The winery arose from a proprietors community in 1960, but it was bought by Santiago Arroyo in 1994, when he took the decision to implant a new phase with a solid business plan that included renovation of installations and the construction of an underground wine-maturing cellar with a floor space of 1,000 square metres and a capacity for over 4,000 oak casks, as well as a bottling room.
This important extension and the ensuing increase in the capacity of the
installations were brought about thanks to the high standard obtained by
Tinto Arroyo (reserve and vintage red wines) and the many awards from
prestigious international competitions. The changes involved special
attention being given to each stage of the winemaking process, together
with an extended maturing period, which enables the high quality
obtained to be improved, in as far as that is possible.
In Bodega S. Arroyo, wine is our passion and we know how to put this
feeling into our products. International recognition has been the reward
for the efforts and hard work of the personnel that make up the winery,
with their immense faith in a job well done, and one which is capable of
reaping such excellent results.
